Welcome to the very first post of my new creativity blog, exploring the creative joys of starting a new blog, plus what you can expect from A Life More Creative in the future…

New blog, new journey, first post.

Today is special.

Today is the first day of the rest of my new blog, A Life More Creative.

This is my fourth blog.

My first, The Pram In The Hall, never made it past the register-on-Blogger-&-write-one-draft stage.

I think that’s for the best, given that my topic was an unhappy struggle between creativity and motherhood. (I have since learned how to find a happier middle ground.)

My second blog was a variation of that theme, entitled Make Peace With Housework, again chronicling my domestic trials as a young wife and mother of two small boys.

This blog evolved in a more positive direction however, eventually becoming a book (or two) that shared the inspiring solutions I’d found to ease my domestic overload.

Next up on my blogging journey was the collection of musings on the creative life – my true passion.

This blog – housed on my namesake website – began in 2013 and evolved over the next 9 years to embrace such categories as Health & Wellness, Spirituality, Positive Psychology and Life By Design.

It was also the chronicle of my career odyssey, my striving to find my place in the world of work, one that aligned with my lifestyle preferences, my devotion to my dharma and my love of freedom.

I blogged more or less fortnightly for over a decade, and it was all a true labour of love.

My latest creative calling: Starting a new blog

As my namesake website has grown and evolved, I reached a point recently where I felt a calling to give my blogging platform an identity of its own.

This calling has been growing louder and louder over the last few weeks, culminating in a full day of musing, pondering and determination to bring my new blogging vision to life.

And, after much contemplation, a good deal of meditation and the odd spell of exasperation – here we are.

My new blogging home, with a name all of its own.

A Life More Creative: My new creativity blog

This new name sums up much of the work I’ve done over the last couple of decades around my unique life purpose (as inspired by this idea from Thomas Troward) – the work I feel I am here on this planet to do.

There will be more on that note in the weeks, months and years ahead.

But for today, I simply wanted to mark this occasion, as a gift to my creative spirit and a new milestone in my blogging life.

Over time, these posts will be more about you, how you can craft and enjoy a life more creative, the life that you are here to experience.

I have LOTS to share on this topic!

My vision is for this blog to become an inspiring resource to anyone whose creative expression and soul work is important to them.

This first post though, is just a little backstory, so anyone who feels called to delve far enough back into this blog history will be able to see how and why it began.

Creative Joy: Blogging = my kind of happy

Even though it’s just Day 1 of this journey, I have a feeling that this blog is going to be a key ingredient of a life more creative, for me.

I still have lots of unanswered questions, and there is much work to do to create this project to the standard I have in mind – and I can’t wait to devote lots of quality time to sharing my work in the blog posts ahead.

As we begin, I’m embracing a new era of progress-not-perfection, and a calling to share more freely and openly – not something that always comes naturally to a privacy-loving introvert.

But I’m trusting the process.

Because one thing I now know for sure is this;

When we follow the beckoning of our creative hearts, good things happen.

So – here we go!

To a life more creative – for me, for you and for all.

I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.
