As promised, I have something new and exciting to share with you! 🥳

But first – a short story…

The Mini Monthly Membership That Changed My Life

Back in 2005, I discovered an online service that would let me download an audiobook of my choice, every month, for a small fee.

As the stay-at-home/work-from-home mum of two young boys with an old Victorian house to renovate, this was music to my ears.

(That particularly busy life phase was keeping me from reading as much as I would have liked…)

So, I eagerly signed up and connected my beloved iPod Shuffle to my account, and embarked on a new love affair – The Joy of Audiobooks.

While I couldn’t curl up with books and indulge my love of reading on a regular basis, I could get my fix of inspiration and education on the go – pushing prams, glossing woodwork, or the endless rounds of Mum Taxi Life. 🚖

Cue many happy months listening to the likes of Julia Cameron, Natalie Goldberg, Ernest Hemingway and Virginia Woolf, along with titles from the Personal Development world exploring NLP, spirituality and psychology.

The months gradually turned to years and years of a regular diet of inspiring creatives and experts that shaped my mind, honed my skills, guided my vision, and paved the way for my dharma – the work I love so much today.

One memoir or virtual mentor at a time. 💫

The provider of my life-changing membership was the mighty Audible, which is a giant in the literary world today, but was just a fledgling online library back in 2005.

(You can read more about my 18-year devotion to Audible here.)

And I’m sharing this story with you today for 2 reasons;

1. To illustrate the power of adopting a Little & Often practice that helps you, step-by-regular-step, shape a career, a mindset, a body of work and even a lifestyle. Because what we feed our minds on a regular basis influences who we become.

2. To be revealed tomorrow!

In the spirit of this little-by-little approach, I’ll be back tomorrow with news of my latest creation which I hope will bring the power of continued, devoted baby steps to your creative goals and dreams. 🌟

Till then!

PS If you’d like to learn just how powerful this Little & Often approach can be, you might like to take a look at the Kaizen Creativity experiment I’ve been running this year.

I haven’t even updated it for the last month or so – I’ve been so busy creating! – yet it shows just how much can be achieved with commitment and a regular focus.

And I’ll be back tomorrow to share news of how you can tap into this magic for yourself. ✨
